Customization Help

If you’re having a hard time deciding what to say, or how to say it – don’t worry. We’re here to help! We understand the importance of a well-crafted sign or award and our 100% Montana-based customer service is always just a phone call away.

In case you didn’t want to speak to us on the phone, here are some key points to remember when designing your signs and awards.

  • Always use high contrasting colors when using text. Popular color combinations include black/white, blue/orange and red/green.This helps ensure that your text doesn’t blend into the background and is easily read.
  • Use large text for headers and even larger text for titles. By doing this, readers can easily see what is important so your message isn’t lost in a sea of text.
  • Make good use of white space. White space is the space between words, logos and images. Not having enough “space” on a banner is similar to not using titles or headers and makes everything look crowded.
  • Spell check, then spell check again. Nothing is worse than giving an award with the name misspelled. It makes them wonder how genuine that award really was.

Now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s talk about some product specific tips that’ll make your awards really stand out.

Name Tags

  • Include the person’s name and title in large easy to read font. If you decide to design these yourself, we recommend at least a size 20 font. If your name badges are smaller, then choose a size accordingly.
  • Pick a fastener based on your environment. With several fasteners available, we recommend that you consider who will be wearing the name tag and how before starting your design. While pin clips and tape are cheap and generally get the job done, someone serving high-end clientele will prefer the look and feel of our magnetic fasteners. The same applies for someone constantly lifting and moving things, it is much easier on their shirt when magnetics get ripped apart than a pin clip.
  • The perfect shape. While it is not impossible to come across a name tag in the shape of a circle, it’s rarity might be a sign that it probably isn’t the greatest idea. Although custom shapes have their uses, the majority of people will want to stick with a classic square or rounded rectangle.
